At Shopventory, our product management UI was originally a single table designed for small customers with a handful of product variants across one or two locations. As we won larger customers, that design strained under the added complexity. Some accounts had grown to 60 variants across a hundred locations, generating far more data than a flat table could present clearly.

I led a redesign that separated "product" from "location-specific inventory" into distinct views instead of one flat table. That restructuring solved the usability problem and unlocked significant performance gains. We no longer needed to render every variant-location combination together in a single view. It also opened the door to new capabilities: search and filtering became more powerful, and the reduced data footprint per request eliminated the timeouts our largest accounts had been experiencing.
